I taught myself to knit in December 1994 from a Leisure Arts booklet. Things progressed slowly the first couple of years, then I really took to it and I now spend most of my leisure time knitting. I’m fortunate to need to ride a bus to work because it gives me about an hour of definite knitting time each work day.

I learned to spin in about 1998 and consider myself an intermediate spinner, meaning I can spin relatively evenly and can deliberately produce what I want (well, except laceweight) but I can’t produce something deliberately lumpy (aka “artistic”) yet.
